Job Description: SUMMARYUnder general supervision, is responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering Section of a Plastic Injection Molding facility. Must oversee the activities of all Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers and Tooling Engineers to support them in achieving their company goals by providing training and feedback when necessary. Additionally, this position will oversee the support for new model equipment purchasing. Up to fourteen direct reports. Number may grow as abilities are shown or as business needs require.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

1. Attend and conduct Joint Check activities with customers.
2. Work with customers on new model and current production concerns.
3. Work with suppliers on supplier part issues.
4. Manage timely completion of customer required documentation including PPAP.
5. Troubleshoot part quality issues during pre-production activities.
6. Troubleshoot issues with current production parts.
7. Oversee implementation and approval for design changes including VA/VE.
8. Responsible for facility metrology and environmental testing laboratory.
9. Interface with customer and supplier on scrap reduction issues.
10. First run tracking and reduction.
11. Interface with design for new product quotation and Design changes.
12. Perform NPL activities.
13. Train, support and provide feedback to engineers on any requested situation.
14. Assist in breaking down barriers that are preventing an ME from achieving their objective.
15. Meet with & review schedules with other departments on status (information sharing) to achieve company targets & goals.
16. Develop new procedure & guidelines for the department.
17. Communicates frequently with internal contacts and occasionally with external contacts on various issues.
18. Performs other duties as necessary.

Required SkillsPlastic Injection Molding experience a strong plus.In addition, this individual must posses strong leadership skills and have the ability to be a change agent. Should be results oriented with strong communication skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities. Strong Microsoft Computer skills. BS degree in Engineering related field. Seven plus years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering management role. Automotive experience strongly desired and these candidates will be given first consideration. Experience in related industry considered if the right leadership qualities are present.
